Zebras Unite: Edinburgh Chapter
Zebras Unite calls for a more ethical and inclusive movement to counter existing start-up and venture capital culture around the world.
Our Scottish chapter of this global movement aims showcase the whole spectrum of options for building and supporting purposeful, sustainable, inclusive businesses. We explore how changing the way we do entrepreneurship could change the outcomes we see. We support values-led entrepreneurs doing business differently, and bring them together so that a unique start-up journey isn’t an isolated one.
Our online community programme is not just a platform or series of events – instead, think of it as a library we’ll build together, one topic at a time. And not just a library of resources like articles, videos, posts and podcasts, but of our experiences, ideas and connections.

Chapter Lead
Daisy Ford-Downes
I’m Head of Group Investment Programmes at Firstport and FirstImpact, designing new investment options for social and purpose-led entrepreneurs. I’m a recovering accountant, venture scout for underrepresented founders, and enthusiastic supporter of financial innovation that gets funding into good ideas. I also host a resource of system innovators and inspiring stories over at The Ventures Lab.
As Chapter Leader, I organise opportunities for local Zebra companies and advisors to network, support each other and learn about a whole spectrum of options for structuring, funding and running companies with purpose and values.
