Startup finance is dominated by stories of huge venture rounds and the pomp and the media spectacle of Initial Public Offerings (IPOs). In reality, VC is a tiny sliver of the capital pool available to startup founders, and its preferred exit strategy drives decisions and a culture that is counterproductive to the goals and ambitions of many startup founders.
In this event we hear from a group of practitioners who are using innovative investment terms and structures that prioritize the sustainable growth of enterprises, and typically combine debt and equity like elements. In these terms, exits are structured to align founder and investor interests, and we will explore several examples of structured exits, and how they are experienced by investors and founders.
