Zebra Courage: Raúl Javales Júnior, The New Ventures Group
This month, we're discussing "courage" with the Zebra community. We requested some thoughts from Brazilian Zebra community member Raúl Javales Júnior of The New Ventures Group.
First, let's hear about the Zebra that you’re building.
We work in three different ways. We run a consultancy that enables us to always stay up to date and creating new things regarding pragmatic innovation. We have what we call a Venture Builder, which is a step by step way we help fast track companies to inside box thinking and help them think through what it means to be ready for exponential growth. And finally, we have a smart hub designed to help connect dots by connecting great companies with great service providers.
What does courage mean to you, specifically as a Zebra?
Courage is a balance of innovation and being pragmatic. Being courageous means running the business, taking risks, and assessing calculated risk when possible.
What are some times in your business that you've had to be most courageous? What did you learn from them?
We recreate our business, year by year. We’ve always been ready to respond to the market and continue to support our mission. And because we understand that product obsolescence is always a risk — no matter how great the product — we are always considering how a Zebra would approach the problems and opportunities.
